MUSIC MINISTRY THRIVING AT JUMC!
We've always had a fantastic music ministry here at Jefferson United Methodist Church, and this year will be even better. Praises will be lifted to God by our littlest ones right through our seniors. Just take a look -- even better -- join one or more choirs and let God show His beautiful love to you through His music!
Children’s Bell Choir -- Under the direction of Jodi Bishop, this choir
will practice
just before worship on the Sundays they’ll be playing. Their first time
to play will be at the 11:00 Rally Day worship, September 7. This choir is
for children ages 4 and up.
Adventure Club Singers Grades 1-6 – With Pastor Meredith leading them, they'll be practicing during our Adventure Club after-school program and singing regularly throughout the year. Also, the 5&6th Grade Adventure Club kids will have a chance to play our chimes this fall.
Jr. High Joy Ringers -- Led by Kathy Housel, they practice at 7:30 Wednesday evenings.
Sr. High Joy Ringers -- Led by Kathy Housel, they practice at 6:30 Wednesday evenings.
Jr. High Inspiration -- Led by Kathy Thomas, they practice at 6:30 Wednesday evenings.
Sr. High Inspiration -- Led by Kathy Thomas, they practice at 7:30 Wednesday evenings.
Praise Teams -- We're always looking for folks willing to lead praise music
at our
11:00 a.m. Sunday services. Call the church office if you're interested.
Girls' Gospel Rock --This is being offered for young adults and high schoolers
during Sunday School time. Led by Kathy Thomas, they'll work on tighter, tougher
harmonies to express their faith.
Chancel Choir -- Led by Kathy Thomas they practice Thursday evenings at 7:00.
Voices Raised -- A really innovative adult contemporary choir. They are led
by Ron Cramer
and will sing several times this year, the first time being in October.
Harmony Ringers – This group of adults gets together a few times a year
to learn a
handbell piece for worship. Paula Stevenson is their director. Their first
rehearsal will be Sunday, August 24 & 31 and Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. They’ll
play at the 8:30 a.m. service September 21 at the 8:30 service.
The Way Home – This is a group who enjoys that country bluegrass sound. They sing 4 times a year. They’re practicing now to be ready to sing & play at the 8:30 a.m. service September 7. Talk to Pat Cramer at the church office if you’re interested.
Born Again Rockers - This is a group that does Praise songs
at the WOW services.
